Liposuction Tumescent vs Ultrasonic

Liposuction Tumescent & Ultrasonic

Liposuction is a procedure in which a surgeon removes targeted areas of fat using a device consisting of a thin metal tube (a cannula) and a suction device.

Liposuction is primarily used to eliminate areas of fat that have been resistant to diet and exercise, and areas of fat that have accumulated simply due to the aging process. Specifically, many people will develop pockets of fat around the abdomen, hips, legs, and neck, as we age and get "fat shifting." Genetics can be a component as well. Liposuction results in a slimmer and better proportioned contour. Liposuction is used effectively to reduce love handles, saddlebags, a double-chin, a bulge around the waistline, or other unsightly fatty deposits in order to develop a better shape.

During liposuction, the surgeon targets very specific areas of fat for removal, sculpting and contouring the patient's body to achieve more youthful looking, aesthetically pleasing proportions.
Liposuction techniques in use today:

Manual Liposuction

is a procedure in which a solution of a dilute anesthetic is injected into the area of fat to be removed, allowing the surgeon to effectively target the area to be treated.

Ultrasonic - Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction

Ultrasonic liposuction is a procedure in which the surgeon targets the fat to be removed using a specialized cannula that emits ultrasonic energy. Ultrasonic liposuction is especially useful when targeting areas of fibrous fat, which can be difficult to remove otherwise. This type of fat is most common in areas such as the back and, for men, the chest.

Men's Body Contouring

Body Contouring for Men

The hormonally-induced "spare tire" around your middle section? This area is made up of dense, fibrous tissue which in the past was difficult to remove. Our physicians use the innovative Ultrasonic and laser techniques to successfully remove this unwanted fat from the body.

A small incision is made in the skin just large enough to insert a small hollow tube called a cannula. The cannula suctions the fat from the designated areas to create the desired look. This body contouring procedure is performed in our surgery center, usually under a general anesthesia. Generally, our patients are back to work in 3 to 5 days and can resume sport activities in 2-3 weeks.

Tummy Tuck Surgery

Sometimes simply dieting and exercising are not enough to take care of waistline problems. In such cases, a patient may wish to consider a tummy tuck .The Tummy Tuck, or Abdominoplasty, is a procedure used to tighten lax abdominal muscles and remove excess skin and fatty deposits from the abdominal wall.

This procedure is designed for those who wish to have a flatter and tighter abdominal wall.

Abdominoplasty is a popular option for women who have lost elasticity in their abdominal area due to pregnancy, and others who have experienced sagging, fat deposits, and loss of elasticity as a result of aging, weight loss, or other factors.

Following the procedure, patients have a firmer, leaner, and more sculpted looking abdomen and a slimmer waist.
Depending on each patient's unique needs and goals, an Abdominoplasty may consist of any one or more of the following procedures to resolve specific problems:
. Tightening excess skin to eliminate loose and sagging skin
. Tightening the underlying abdominal muscles to create a firmer abdominal wall
. Removing excess fat to eliminate a protruding tummy

There are two general types of Abdominoplasty in current use: Complete and partial.

Complete Tummy Tuck

classic Abdominoplasty is a procedure in which the surgeon flattens the epigastric area, ridding the patient of unwanted fat in the belly, and tightening sagging skin. The surgeon accomplishes this by removing excess skin and fat, translocating the navel, and tightening the abdominal muscles, creating a slimmer waistline.

Mini-abdominoplasty

is a less extensive type of the Abdominoplasty procedure, requiring a smaller incision. Unlike the complete Abdominoplasty, the partial Abdominoplasty is localized below the navel area, and does not involve translocating the navel.

Arm, Thigh and Buttocks - Body Contouring

Arm, buttock and thigh lifts are performed to reduce excess skin and fat of individuals in whom diet, exercise, or liposuction alone will not correct the aesthetic imbalance. Candidates for this type of body contouring procedure are usually those who have had extreme weight gains or losses or have developed laxity due to age.

Arm Lift

Patients who have lost weight or who have loose skin of the arm may wish to consider Brachioplasty or arm lifts. This is one of the most gratifying body contouring operations that is performed following completion of bariatric surgery.

Thigh Lift

A thigh lift is performed to remove excess fat and skin from the inner thigh. Many patients opt to get this procedure after they lose a significant amount of weight. It can be done under general or regional anesthesia.
